About Trillian Anywhere
I am an avid Trillian User and wanted to use my Trillian in campus computer labs instead of AIM Express.
It would have been ideal if Trillian had such a service, but I found that this was not a possibility.
After spending some time on the Trillian Discussion Forums (known as dotcomguy, I learned that Trillian is completely portable.
This means, that it does not rely on registry settings and instead uses various INI and XML files to store settings.
This meant that Trillian could be installed to any location and be run independantly.
Gaining interest in setting up a portable installation of Trillian, I became active in a thread on the subject.
I found a way of setting up Trillian on my 8MB diskonkey and later wrote up a short tutorial outlining the steps needed to make one's one portable copy of Trillian.
Trillian Pro was released soon which somewhat changed the rules regarding portable use of it.
Also, I realized that my shabby tutorial was in need of an update and major improvement.
It progressed from its humble beginnings of a simple page of instructions to a carefully laid-out online tutorial and web site.
I hope you have success using Trillian portably using my tutorial.
Thanks for visiting. Enjoy using Trillian Anywhere
