Copy Profile

Now we will copy over your old profile to your this temporary folder so you can have all your previous contacts, settings, et cetera. If you have never used Trillian before, or if you want to start with a new profile, you may skip this step and click Next to continue.

Find Your Profile

• First, we need to know where your original Trillian profile is saved. To do so, open your main installation of Trillian if you have not already.
• Right-click the Trillian system tray icon and select Preferences.
• Select Profiles to see where your profile is saved

Notice the directory column. In my example (and as would be common for those using Windows XP) the exact location of my profile would be:
c:\Documents and Settings\<XP Account>\Trillian\User Settings\dcg\

*Note that <XP Account> would be replaced with whatever account you have on your computer, and you would replace 'dotcomguy' with the name of your Trillian profile.

If you are using the default profile, the location of your profile would be:
C:\Program Files\Trillian\users\default

*Note, that this applies when Trillian is installed in the default location. Your location may vary

New Profile Directory

Create a directory, c:\temptrill\users\default. This is where we will store your profile for Trillian Anywhere.

Copying

Copy all the files in the profile folder to c:\temptrill\users\default neglecting folders within the profile folder.
The other folders such as buddycions, cache, downloads, & logs do not need to be copied.
